SELMA – One person was injured Friday night after a Jeep rear-ended a motor grader plowing snow off Interstate 95 at the 97.5 mile marker in Selma.
The motor grader, owned by Fred Smith Company, was one of many contract snow plows working to keep the interstates flowing.
The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries. They were transported to the hospital and later cited by the Highway Patrol for exceeding a safe speed for conditions.
The equipment operator was uninjured.
Traffic on I-95 was briefly brought to a stop before the wreck could be cleared.
Take a moment and thank the contractors and NCDOT staff for working long hours while being short staff.
It’s obvious some people shouldn’t have a driver’s licence.
Seriously. I’m amazed that there aren’t more vehicle accidents than there are based on the way some people drive without any regard for those around them.
