A motorcyclist is facing DWI charges following an accident Thanksgiving Day. The crash occurred at 5:16pm on Shotwell Road near Old US 70 (West Main Street) in Clayton.
Clayton Police said Ronald Joseph Nutt of Pen Oak Drive, Willow Spring was traveling northbound on Shotwell Road when he lost control causing the 2000 Harley Davidson he was riding to overturn in the roadway.
Nutt was taken by Johnston County EMS to Johnston Medical Center in Clayton for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Nutt was charged with driving while impaired and failure to report an accident. Damage to the motorcycle was estimated at $1,500.
