SELMA – A motorcyclist was critically injured following a high speed collision with a passenger car. The accident occurred at 3:35pm Tuesday in the Selma city limits.
According to law enforcement radio traffic, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office was pursuing a motorcycle. The pursuit entered Johnston County, and while traveling through Selma, the motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of N. Webb Street and E. Griswold Street. A witness reported the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the collision occurred.

Selma Police were not involved in the pursuit but did respond to the scene to assist.
The motorcycle operator was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the car was not transported to the hospital.
The State Highway Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team responded to document the crash site. The intersection was closed for several hours before reopening.
We reached out to the State Highway Patrol for information about the accident. We are still awaiting a response.
That’s gonna leave a mark. Why oh why do people try to outrun police radios. Ya simply can’t do it.
Thank goodness nobody else was hurt
One less reckless driver on the road
That was a friend. Maybe a reckless driver but he was loved by many and For you to sit here and say something like that. Shame.
For your friend to do what he did was shameful.
I should feel bad for this guy why? He should have stopped for the Police and the way I see it, if he did not run, he had to have done something wrong or had something on him he should not have. If this guy was such a good friend, then you should have told him to ride with respect.
Y’all are so quick to judge, yall don’t even know him. Do yall not have anything better to do? So let’s not be rude. If you don’t know him or the situation you have NO right to sit here and speak on him, his family or the situation.
I know the situation, he didn’t stop for the Police and he crashed into a car.. He was driving like a idiot speeding away and recklessly endangering everyone on the road? Did I miss anything?
A friend who was foolish, and his foolishness cost him dearly.
He could have killed the person in the car. Thank god he hit the back and not the front. Sorry about your friend. Very bad decisions can lead to very bad consequences.
Okay let’s not be rude when we have someone son a lot of peoples friend in the hospital fighting for his life and you have the audacity to sit here and talk crap about a young guy being a teenager and now is currently fighting for his life praying and hoping everything goes good so if you don’t have anything good or send your prayers then don’t say anything at all thank you Mr.Rick and have a nice day!
That is a very close friend and for you to sit here and say that is just disrespectful. He is 18 years old. Reckless or not he still has a family and currently in the hospital fighting for any bit of life he has left so it would be greatly appreciated if you would be respectful to his family and friends thank you have a nice day.
You mind sharing if he’s going to be ok? Does he have a head injury? Will pray for him.
HE’S FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE BECAUSE HE CHOSE TO BE STUPID AND RUN FROM THE POLICE! IT’S CAUSED CONSEQUENCES FOR YOUR ACTIONS!
The people defending his actions are enabling his stupidity. If he had hit that car two feet to the left, the INNOCENT driver could have been killed. His “situation” has nothing to do with his complete disregard for other people. I’ve done stupid #### in my life too and it was MY FAULT. I owned up and learned. Luckily, I learned my lesson without me or anyone else getting hurt.
The fact that you are sitting here saying stuff like that is ridiculous. The man is 18 years old if you have nothing nice to say on here where his friends and family can see it while there little boy is laying in a hospital bed fighting for his life then don’t say anything at all. Thx.
Respectfully Im Glad it’s people up her that care about him instead of throwing stones. I can see there are alot of adult Bullies smh Grow up BigKids
We have seen him come down Hwy 301 multiple times at a high rate of speed. I knew he was going to get injured if he didn’t slow down.. we saw the high speed chase as well.. Prayers for him and all in involved.
So they traveled from Wilson county to Selma in a high speed chase and never once felt the need to call off the pursuit for the safety of others??
And he never once felt the need to say, “Maybe I better stop”???
So we just never need to hold the police to standards ever?? The cop played a part in this as well they are able to pull tag information and make an arrest later it happens all the time. The police were not thinking about any persons safety letting a chase go on that long, period. I’m not saying the motorcycle driver is right but neither are the cops.
There were no tags on the bike.
Don’t blame the Police for his bad choice. He was breaking the law and that is why we have Police. If he pulled over for the Police, this would have never happened to your dear wonderful friend who is an Angel. Again, I ask, I should feel bad for him why??????
Sucks to be him.
I agree with Supreme Leader.
Rocket man is always right. We are so fortunate he graces us in the comments.
Same goes for you y’all should be ashamed for the childishness this generation has for other people
“Run and You’re Done,” indeed.
that is not a good thing saying one reckless driver off the road that’s not good he could have died and yall are saying thank goodness
Okay for people to be in the comments being rude is not going to fly this man is sitting in a hospital bed fighting for his life and for you to have the audacity to sit here and talk crap abt someone son and a lot of friends to others is so disrespectful so if you don’t have anything to say or send your prayers don’t say anything at all thank you Rick and Kim
Don’t criticize about a situation until you know the truth a situation.
Don’t be quick to judge about what happened. We don’t know what happened with that situation because anything could of happened even the police isn’t always innocent. You people don’t seem to care that he is alright. People in society don’t care unless hit hits their family.
He ran from the cops not to get in trouble. In doing so he put people’s lives at risk.
Play stupid games… Win stupid prizes!!
Maybe next time he will stop for that blue light. He did not to himself..
I understand that this guy is someone’s son and that he’s in the hospital but it’s normal and ok for the community to be upset about what he did. He ran from the police and crashed into an innocent person. He left that other driver with the trauma and seeing him on the ground, wondering what the heck happened. That’s something this person won’t easily unsee when they close their eyes at night. HIS actions and decisions placed many other lives aside from his own at risk. It’s hard to sympathize with someone who cares so little about himself. I hope that he gets well so that he can be held accountable for his actions and have his M endorsement removed from his license. This was not cool!
Exactly!
Well said, he put numerous lives as risk, including the officers who were chasing him and many innocent motorists, possibly pedestrians and bicyclists as well. Extremely sad that he is fighting for his life and I hope he does get better, because all lives matter, however, this person was an adult at 18 years of age and made the conscious decision to fail to obey the law and the sad reality is that he is now facing the grave consequences of his actions (or lack of actions, i.e., stopping for the blue lights behind him). With this noted, prayers need to be sent to this person to get well and hopefully learn from his tragic choices and, God willing, become a productive member of society.
It is ok to be upset that your friend is hurt. It is not ok for you to “criticize” others because they are commenting on him putting himself in that situation. It doesn’t matter what he is “going through.” I’ve had motorcycles and done some really stupid things on them. I would still take ownership if I did not stop for the police and crashed. That was his choice. Nobody else’s. Quit blaming others or what he was going through for the reason he didn’t stop. HE MADE THAT CHOICE.
And to comment that police are not always innocent? What did the police do to make him run? I’ll wait… Oh, that’s right they made him speed and drive recklessly. He was doing that before they tried to stop him and does it regularly from what people who live up that way are saying. It was only a matter of time. Thought he was invincible. I did too until my wreck, which was my fault…
Grow up and pray for your friend. Quit trying to make others feel bad for comments on what he should have done. They are right. He should have stopped. Hopefully he will be ok from this and learn from HIS mistake.
ok and people don’t have to comment like that they can keep it to there’s self like there loved ones do not wanna look at this and see yall talking bad abt there kid while he’s fighting for his life right now
This site is literally to give people the news and for them to comment on it. If you don’t like it, then don’t read it. I’m not saying people need to be ugly about it, but people saying that it’s the officer’s fault or you don’t know what he was going through are the type of people that don’t take accountability for anything and are always the “victim.” That’s the point we are trying to make. He did this, not anyone else.
Don’t speak unless you know him? How about this, I know kids that go to his school. He’s been talking about getting into a police chase on his motorcycle and recording it with his Go-Pro. This was premeditated and carried out as planned until he went flying through the air.
He caved in the other car and that driver (the victim) is in some serious pain. Yes, I know…personally.
If he does make is through all this he deserves to be charged and held accountable for his actions praying for him and his family and also the victim
I don’t want to get political here, but, wouldn’t it make the most sense to ban all motorcycles? Or maybe we could make some motorcycle free zones.
Or enact speed limits and laws requiring you to stop when the police turn on the lights.
He almost killed my mother in law…the innocent driver in the car!!!
I’m so thankful that she’s ok and pray that her mental state is ok after seeing that.
Well I mean she did pull out in front of him and you can clearly see anything coming from both ways He might have been running and speeding but he wrecked because someone pulled out in front of him.
Y’all need to shut the f*** up talking negative about him . He is fighting for his life. Y’all do f***ing judgemental .y’all act like y’all so f***ing perfect. Y’all probably did things that were way worse. So shut the f*** up talking about him or else. His parents raised him well don’t be blaming s*** on them. F*** what y’all talking about . Y’all worried about the wrong s*** . Worry about yourself. Instead of talking s*** y’all need to be sending the family prayers at this time. Know the f***ing facts before you run your ******* mouth. Petty a** people grow the f*** up and don’t say anything else about him.
