Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On US 70

Tragedy struck a family Saturday afternoon in Johnston County. A father and son were riding their motorcycles on US 70 Business near US 70 Bypass east of Clayton, when the father lost control of his motorcycle, ran into the median and struck a guardrail. The man was ejected and died at the scene.

His son, riding a second motorcycle, witnessed the fatal crash.

The name of the victim was not immediately released by the NC Highway Patrol.

Trooper H.D. Nazal said speed was a contributing factor in the 2:20pm accident. Alcohol was not involved.

The NC Highway Patrol, Johnston County EMS, and the Wilson’s Mills Fire Department responded to the scene. JoCoReport.com Photos
