Monday night, Johnston County deputies received a routine call reporting a larceny from a home at 728-B Davis Mill Road outside of Selma. There were no signs of any problems. When the officer arrived on the scene he found two bodies inside.
The deaths are being treated as a murder-suicide.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said 47 year-old Wanda Oden was found dead inside the home from an apparent gunshot wound. Her husband, 51 year-old Robert Lee Oden was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. It is believed Robert Oden shot and killed his wife before taking his own life. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to determine a motive for what sparked the deadly domestic incident. No additional details are being released at this time.
