Deputies have made an arrest in connection with the murder of a 63 year-old woman found dead in her home late-Monday.
Around 5:00pm, deputies with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office responded to 546 Potato House Road near Clinton Officers said they found Gladys Bradshaw deceased.
The following day, a preliminary report from the Sampson County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death as homicide.
Detectives also discovered financial transactions were being made using the victims stolen identity after her death.
On Wednesday, Steven Munley, 40, of Maxton was located in the Laurinburg area of Scotland Count and detained. He was returned to Sampson County and charged with murder. Munley has a lengthy criminal history including prior convictions for breaking and entering, larceny, breaking into a house of worship and DWI.
Ms. Bradshaw, according to her obituary, worked for nearly 40 years at Lundy Packing Company/Smithfield Packing Company.
Investigators have not released any additional information about the homicide including how Ms. Bradshaw died.
