Murder Suspect Arrested In Maryland

A fifth suspect has been arrested in connection with an attempted robbery and fatal shooting.

Billy-Renaldo-Hamm-FIBilly Renaldo Hamm, 44, was arrested Tuesday by the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland. Hamm is the fifth person linked by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to a January 9th shooting at a home on Sleepy Creek Road in Dudley.

Carlos Cesar Vasquez Luna, 47, was shot and killed.  Alfredo Garcias, 25, was wounded but recovered from his injuries.

Hamm is alleged to have provided a false name to Maryland authorities after they were called to investigate a person trespassing at a business. Officials said they used fingerprints to identify him.  Hamm is facing several charges in Maryland for the incident there. In Wayne County, he has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, burglary, and two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Jerry Aundrey Parks, 41, and Jennele Lea Howard Wall, 35, both of Goldsboro were previously arrested on murder and attempted murder charges.

Darius Lamar Chestbut, 35, and Montrell Demontrin Allen, 41, both of Goldsboro were arrested on burglary and attempted robbery charges only.
