A man charged in the shooting death of his teenage girlfriend in May was gunned down at a party near Clayton early Sunday.

The body of Derrick Lester Williams, 41, of Mitchner Drive, Smithfield was found at 527 Slate Top Road around 3:30am.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating Williams murder and at last report no arrests had been made.  Authorities do not believe Williams homicide is linked the death of Moesha “Kiki” Lockamy.  Around 2:41am on May 2nd, Williams is accused of discharging a firearm striking the 18 year-old woman. At the time, Williams and Lockamy were dating and Wilson’s Mills Police said it appears they were playing with the firearm when it discharged. Lockamy was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams was scheduled to appear in court later this week on a second-degree murder charge.
