Music Teacher Named Chamber Super Star

The Clayton Chamber of Commerce has selected Amy Miller, a music teacher at Riverwood Elementary School as their November Super Star Teacher of the Month.

Super Star teachers demonstrate excellence and leadership in their classroom, creativity and motivation of their students and show a high level of commitment to our community.

Ms. Miller enjoys sharing her love of music with the entire school.  Students are given many opportunities to learn about different cultures through music in many different parts of the world.   Ms. Miller also co-sponsors the school drama club and the school Chorus.  She takes the Chorus to the Showcase of Stars, both the Clayton and Riverwood Tree Lighting events, the All-County Elementary Chorus and PTA events.   She leads the school talent show each year.  This year her students participated in a Duke Energy and National Theatre performance program and soon after they became involved with raising funds for the My Energy Kit Challenge.  Ms. Miller does an excellent job of advocating for students, families and the entire community.
