SAMPSON COUNTY – The driver of a Ford Mustang was airlifted to the hospital after a serious two vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon.
The collision was reported at 4:48pm at the intersection of Green Path Road and N. Spring Branch Road in the Plain View community.
First responders located a burgundy Ford Mustang off the roadway in the front yard of a home and a black Chevrolet Suburban in the roadway.
The driver of the Mustang sustained serious injuries. The passenger was evaluated at the scene but refused transport to the hospital.
The female driver of the SUV and her two children were transported to Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn.
N. Spring Branch Road was closed for just over two hours while the crash was investigated by the NC State Highway Patrol.
Emergency units from Sampson and Harnett counties responded to the collision.
