National Day Of Prayer May 7th

National Day Of PrayerThe 64th annual National Day of Prayer is set this year for Thursday, May 7th.  

This is a national observance signed into law by in 1952. 

The Four Oaks community will be gathering in front of the Four Oaks Town Hall at 12:00 pm to pray.  Area pastors will be leading in prayer for specific areas, such as; government, the family, education, military, emergency personnel, and others.

This year, Dr. Jack Graham, the 2015 Honorary Chairman, wrote a special prayer to be simultaneously read throughout the nation at noon, as millions of people gather to pray at events planned all around the nation.  This recitation will create a huge wave of prayer, flowing from one coast to the other, illustrating the unity of God’s people and acknowledging His dominion over the circumstances facing us.  The prayer can be found on the website at nationaldayofprayer.org.

This year’s National Day of Prayer, this is Lord, Hear Our Cry and the related scripture verse is from I Kings 8:28:  “Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence this day.
