National Guard Leaders With Local Ties Supporting WNC Hurricane Helene Recovery

AVERY COUNTY, NC – North Carolina Army National Guard leaders with local ties visited the Avery County Emergency Operations Center Tuesday, Oct. 8 where Soldiers are deployed to support Hurricane Helene recovery operations in Western North Carolina.

Gen. Morrison is overseeing all National Guard and Active Army Soldiers deployed to western North Carolina to assist with Hurricane Helene Relief efforts.

Morrison formerly served in the 230th Support Battalion Headquarters, which includes companies in Benson, Dunn and Kinston. Baker is senior enlisted advisor of the 30th Brigade Armored Combat Team based in Clinton, N.C.
