SMITHFIELD – The Town of Smithfield will partner with over 17,000 communities from all across the country for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 1st, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Johnston Community College.
National Night Out, now in its 39th year, is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work.

National Night Out is sponsored by the Town of Smithfield Police Department, along with the Selma, Four Oaks, Princeton, Kenly and Wilson’s Mills Police Departments, the Smithfield and Selma Fire Departments, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Johnston County EMS, the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Revel 42, Stevens Sausage, Lifespring Church, Quality Equipment and Cricket Wireless.
The night offers something for everyone including free food, a petting zoo, bounce houses, K9 demonstrations, giveaways, police vehicle displays, and booths highlighting crime prevention and safety.
