Information Systems Technician Petty Officer 3rd Class Rashawn V. Ragland from Knightdale was recognized as Warrior of the Day, on September 17th, aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). He was selected from a crew of more than 3,000 Sailors.
The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is underway participating in a Composite Training Unit Exercise in preparation for a future deployment.
Ragland, a 2013 graduate of Knightdale High School, has served in the Navy for one year.
As an Information Systems Technician, Ragland, operates and maintains the Navy’s global satellite telecommunications systems, mainframe computers, local and wide area networks, and micro-computer systems used in the fleet.
