Marseille, France – Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Derrick Elliott, from Bunnlevel, NC, assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21), heaves in a mooring line in preparation for the ship pulling out of Marseille, France on July 3rd. 

USS New York, deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group/24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
