BENSON – This month, the NC DOT will completely close a section of NC 27 inside Benson for a culvert pipe replacement project. The closure is set to begin Monday, May 4th.
The project is expected to be completed by May 22. This is the same NC DOT culvert project originally scheduled for February, but was postponed due to another nearby road closure.
A detour route for this month’s work has been established.
For those heading into town on NC 27 — take Mingo Road to Benson Hardee Road to NC 50 and back on NC 27 (West Main Street).
For those heading out of town on NC 27 — take NC 50 to Benson Hardee Road to Mingo Road and back on NC 27.
