NC Governor Plans To Order Restaurants And Bars Closed To Dine-In Customers

NC Governor Roy Cooper will hold a media briefing at 2 pm this afternoon (Tuesday).

During the briefing, Cooper plans to announce a new executive order requiring all North Carolina restaurants and bars closed for dine-in customers.  Drive-thru, takeout and delivery orders will still be allowed.

The order is designed to limit the gathering of large groups of people and prevent the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The order is expected to take effect at 5:00pm Tuesday, March 17th.

The Governor is also anticipated to announce an expansion of unemployment insurance to help workers impacted by COVID-19.
