The Johnston County Center of the N.C. Cooperative Extension Service in cooperation with the Johnston County Environmental Health Department will offer N.C. Safe Plates — Food Safety Manager Certification Course. This comprehensive course is appropriate for food service managers and supervisory staff in restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, childcare facilities and other food-handling establishments.
The course will take place at the Johnston County Cooperative Extension located at 2736 N.C. 210, Smithfield, May 3-5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each date. The exam will be given on Friday, May 6, after a review. The registration is first-come, first-served until filled.

Certification will be provided by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals and will be based on successful completion of the course and by passing a written examination. A certificate, which can be displayed in your business, will be issued to those receiving certification. Testing is optional, but certification will be issued only to those participants passing the written exam.
