Per state law, the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will begin collecting a processing fee on all transactions paid for with a credit or debit card on July 1. This includes transactions occurring in-person, online and at a self-service kiosk.
A provision in last year’s state budget allows NCDMV to collect up to 2% on transactions paid for with a credit or debit card. The fee charged for transactions occurring in-person will be 1.22%; online transactions will be 1.85% and kiosk transactions will be 2%.
The NCDMV also has a number of fees that will increase on July 1, 2024.
You got to love your elected GA. They tout how they lowered your taxes to pander for votes, but never tell you about the laws they pass that raise your cost and fees to be able to live. The electorate is to blind to see this bait & switch and keeps voting for these same idiots.
And the quality of service continues to drop.
Great, more taxes! Thank you
@Jen. Sorry Jen, Fees and cost are just another word for taxes. The GA has to have those money’s to pay back their donors on the backs of the middle class. Just because they don’t call it a tax doesn’t mean it doesn’t supply the GA coffers. Try again
Did you actually read my comment? You’re as bright as the GA
Do they accept cash at their offices?
Per State Law…Super majority?
Please NC wake up! Don’t vote party, vote common sense. And term limits!
