RALEIGH – North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) has approved a $200,000 Capacity Building Competitive Grant Program (CBCG) to the County of Johnston.
The CBCG Program was authorized by the North Carolina General Assembly for Fiscal Year 2024 with the purpose to provide funding for building local emergency management capabilities, closing preparedness, response, or recovery gaps, and to assist local emergency management agencies across the state with building capacity to effectively respond to all-hazards.
Johnston County will use the funds for a Generator and Auto Transfer Switch Project at Johnston Area Transit System enabling the facility to be used as a shelter for evacuees.
