The Neuse Charter School Cake Festival and Auction isn’t just about cake, it’s also about building community relationships through raising money for cancer research.

During the festival, attendees will receive information concerning the prevention, early detection and treatment of various types of cancer. Tickets for this event will be $5.00.  Admission for children under 5 years of age is free. Each paid admission includes 6 free samples of delicious treats.

Dr.-Patricia-HarrisProceeds from this event will go to benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life movement and to purchase technology for students at Neuse Charter School.

For the last couple of years, Neuse Charter School has actively participated in the Relay for Life campaign in honor of Dr. Patricia Harris, a former Executive Director of the school who lost her battle to cancer on March 10, 2014. During her battle against cancer, Dr. Harris displayed tenacity, vigor and courage.

Her fight against cancer inspired the Neuse Charter community to put forth a concentrated effort to help find a cure for cancer. She taught the students, staff and parents to remain encouraged no matter what the circumstance.

This year’s event will be held at the Dr. Patricia Harris Gymnasium located on the Neuse Charter School campus on Friday, April 15th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  For more information email ncsptocakefest@gmail.com.
