Megan Broadwell, Taylor Horne, Katie Cole, Kraig Hanafin and Michaela Casey from Neuse Charter School in Smithfield have been invited to represent Varsity Spirit in the 2020 Thanksgiving Tour at Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida and The Citrus Bowl also held in Orlando.
All-American cheerleaders are selected via tryouts based on either superior cheerleading and dance skills at camps operated by Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA). Only the top 12% of the cheerleaders and dancers from Varsity Spirit camps earn the chance to participate in a performance of this caliber.
“Being a part of the All-American family is both an honor and a privilege. The bonds and memories you make with the staff and fellow cheerleaders are some you will never forget and being able to say that you are part of this family is one of the greatest feelings. These are some of the best all-around athletes that you’ll meet. It is up to all those bearing this title to encourage others to love such an amazing sport and bring in new names to the legacy of All-American,” said Katie Cole.
Taylor Horne added, “I look forward to meeting cheerleaders from all across America! It’s important to keep our spirits high, especially during times like these. I’m excited about being a part of something positive and representing my school at a national event!”
Neuse Charter’s chosen All-American’s have the opportunity to perform with the Varsity Spirit All-Americans in a one-of-a-kind performance at the Universal Orlando Resort on Thanksgiving Day and The Citrus Bowl pre-game performance. Besides enjoying a sunny trip to Orlando, All-Americans will have the opportunity to meet cheerleaders and dancers from across the nation and enjoy a magical holiday season at the Universal Orlando Resort parks.
