Neuse Charter’s Norri Dupree Received Distinguished Honor

Neuse Charter School Senior Norri Dupree of Smithfield has received the distinguished honor of being recognized as an African American Scholar by the College Board National Recognition Programs (CBRP). Norri achieved this recognition for remarkable academic achievements and for outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Approximately 3.8 million students took the PSAT/NMSQT in 2019. Norri scored in the top 2.5 percent in order to qualify as an African American Scholar.

“Norri Dupree is an amazing student and an amazing young lady. She is very conscientious student who works continuously to seek knowledge and improvement.  In addition to her work ethic in the classroom, Norri contributes her leadership to the NCS cheer team. In her spare time, she works at a part-time job.  She is a wonderful role-model for all students at NCS,” said Neuse Charter teacher Beth Miller.

Neuse Charter teacher Paige Bruner added, “Norri is an amazingly talented student who always puts forth her very best effort. She takes learning seriously and not only wants to earn top marks, but she wants to truly learn her content. Norri enjoys learning the why, not just learning for the test. She has been a true delight to teach!”
