WTSB News has learned that Scott Sabatino has been named the new director of the Johnston County Department of Social Services.
Sabatino, a current Johnston County resident, has most recently been the Program Administrator of Child Welfare Services for the Halifax County Department of Social Services.
On Monday, Johnston County Commissioners authorized Sabantino’s starting salary of $105,000 per year. His start date was not announced.
Denise Boyette had been the interim director of the agency since December following the retirement last year of former DSS director Tina Corbett. Boyette, the Human Services Deputy Director of the Department of Social Services, was making an annual salary of $93,343. She was given an additional stipend of $777 per month while serving as interim.
