The Johnston County School Board approved several personnel changes at their monthly board meeting on Tuesday, including the naming of new principals.
Heather Anders, who is an assistant principal at Smithfield Middle was named the new principal at the same school. Also Takicey Dunston, the assistant principal at Benson Elementary will transition to the principal at the school. Both personnel changes take effective March 1st. Anders and Dunston were also given two year contracts through June 30, 2018.
Five other administrative transfers were approved.
Bruce Bunn, a Central Temp Administrator has been named the interim principal at South Smithfield Elementary.
Baretta Haynes the Principal at the Middle College High has been assigned to the Career & Technical Academy as Principal.
Jennifer Moore the Principal at Smithfield Middle has been named the Middle School Director. Kim Wellons, interim principal at Benson Elementary has been named interim assistant principal at Benson Elementary.
Carla Withrow, principal at South Smithfield Elementary has been named Principal at Micro Elementary. These five transfers take effect March 1st.
