No Charges Against Bus Driver Who Fatally Struck Teacher

Brandon-KincaidOn Wednesday, Goldsboro Police announced they would not be filing any charges against the driver of a daycare bus that struck and killed a school teacher in the parking lot of a Wayne County School last week.

Brandon Kincaid, a teacher at Meadow Lane Elementary School on E. Ash Street in Goldsboro, was struck in the school’s parking lot by a private bus being driven by Ray Batts, an employee of Small World Daycare Center. Kincaid, 28, was rushed to the hospital where he died.

Police said the investigation in the accident has been completed and after consulting with the district attorney’s office, no charges would be filed against Batts.

School officials confirmed last week the accident was witnessed by some students and extra support was being provided to them to help them cope.
