Weylon Scott Brown, age 46, of Stevens Chapel Road, Smithfield was fatally shot November 3, 2024 inside the Shop N Go, at 13569 NC 39, Zebulon, in northern Johnston County.

The decision not to charge the clerk was made after the sheriff’s office presented evidence to the Johnston County District Attorney.

Brown reportedly tried to break into several cars parked outside, threatened a customer in the parking lot with mace, then physically fought with the clerk inside the business prior to the deadly shooting.

The clerk remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

He also just got his pistols back a couple days ago

  1. He no longer works at this store. He shot the guy in the back as he was running out of the door. He should be charged. I’ve seen the video personally.

    • Perfect. He got him right before he could go harm other innocent people. Thanks for letting us know! Hopefully thieves will think twice after seeing this story.

    • I hope one of these low life pos breaks into your house with a gun. Mr law abiding citizen not man enough to give your name.

    • So what? I don’t care which direction the savage was headed as long as he doesn’t run anymore. You think because he terrorized people, committed a crime (s) but when he turns his back all of a sudden he’s somehow entitled to consideration? ? Law abiding citizen=Criminal Sympathizer

    • Just because he shot him in the back does not mean he should have been charged. People can be shot in the back and it be justified based on the totality of all the circumstances. You should really know the law instead of just posting an opinion based on the video. I also believe the ADA is slightly more qualified to make that kind of determination with their law degree and understanding of the Supreme Court and elements to crimes, but hey what do I know??????????

    • That is absolutely untrue. You should be ashamed of yourself. This man did what he HAD to do, what no one ever WANTS to do and you’re on here telling lies about him smh…

  2. I don’t agree with this situation he shot the man in the back while running out store. How about the lethal would have stopped him.

  3. Right wrong or indifferent it doesn’t give him the right to take a life… the system is so messed up…
