North Johnston High School seniors walked the halls of their former schools to inspire younger students to graduate.

Wearing their caps and gowns, seniors proudly walked through the halls of Pine Level Elementary, Micro Elementary, and Glendale-Kenly Elementary schools as current elementary school students filled the halls and cheered for them on Friday, May 18.

“It is rewarding as a teacher to see the students that started out at Pine Level finishing this chapter of their life,” said Pine Level Elementary school media coordinator and former kindergarten teacher Karen Parker.

The majority of the students who are graduating from North Johnston High School previously attended either Glendale-Kenly Elementary or Pine Level Elementary (formerly Micro-Pine Level Elementary School).

Teachers, administrators, and school staff also filled the halls to congratulate and show respect for their former students.

Seniors visiting Pine Level Elementary received a small diploma-like item tied with ribbon to commemorate their visit to the school, which included “Smarties” candy.
