On Tuesday, the Johnston County School Board approved numerous personnel changes including changes at the Central Office and the naming of new principals at several schools.
At the Central Office, Rodney Peterson and Eddie Price will be switching positions. Peterson, the Chief Academic Officer for Johnston County Schools will become the Secondary Area Superintendent on July 1st. Price, the current Secondary Area Superintendent, was named the Chief Academic Officer.
John Bell, the principal at Selma Middle School has been named the new Central Director.
David Cobb, Principal at Four Oaks Middle, will transfer this summer to principal at South Campus Middle. Chris Kennedy, the principal at South Campus Middle was named principal at Selma Middle.
Jocell Flores, the principal at Clayton Middle was named the new principal at Cooper Elementary. Janet Lebo, principal at Cooper Elementary was become the principal at River Dell Elementary.
Dorlisa Johnson-Coward, the principal at Riverwood Elementary was named the new principal at McGee’s Crossroads Middle. Sheila Singleton, principal at McGee’sCrossroads Middle was named principal at the JCS Middle College.
Leigh White, principal at Meadow Elementary was tapped as the new principal at Riverwood Elementary.
Ben Williams the current principal at River Dell Elementary was named principal at Archer Lodge Middle effective July 1st.
Brian Johnson, principal at Powhatan Elementary will become the new principal at North Johnston Middle School.
Two year contracts were awarded to 5 principals: Tol Avery at Four Oaks Middle, Paige Barnes at Meadow Elementary, Dan Kerwin at Powhatan Elementary; Laura Makey at South Smithfield Elementary, and Catherine Trudell at Clayton Middle School.
Contracts were renewed for 4 years for 15 principals, effective July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2020. They include: Ron Anthony, Stephen Baker, Kenneth Bennett, Paula Coates, David Cobb, Jocell Flores, Brian Johnson, Lorrie Johnson, Brayton Leonhardt, Allen Sasser, Sheila Singleton, Bridgette Spaulding, James Stoke, Ben Williams, and Carla Withrow.
Nineteen assistant principals contracts were also renewed for 4 years. They include: Jeremy Barefoot, Tandra Batchelor-Mapp, Faitha Batten, Timothy Dugan, Chris Germanoski, Timberly Harrington, Elisha Hope, Dana Jernigan, Jennifer McClure, Thomas Presti, Mogie Reddy, Sandra Robertson, Maritza Rosado, Kenneth Sumler, Tara Thompson, Jamie Tyler, Tracy Vannurden, Kristin Williams, and Cole Yarborough.
Several Administrator contracts were renewed for two years, effective July 1st, for: Angela Becton, Denise Byrd, Cary Lane Cockrell, Linda Edmundson, Kathy Hamilton, Angie Jacobs, Kelley Johnson, Stephanie Leonard, Kathleen McLamb, Danah Miller, Amy Stanley, Kristy Stephenson, and Anthony Stewart.
