A.G. Hare

Mr. A.G. Hare, age 87, of Lillington passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial Service will be held-2:00 PM March 28, 2026 at Buie’s Creek First Baptist Church.

Mr. Hare was born on December 10, 1938 in Wake County to the late James Claude and Daisy Mae Mims Hare. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by many brothers and sisters. Prior to retirement, Mr. Hare was a builder and owned and operated his own construction company, Hare Acoustics. He was a loving and gentle person who was everyone’s friend. Mr. Hare was a faithful Christian who loved his Lord and Savior and was an active member of Buie’s Creek First Baptist where he was member of the choir and served as a deacon.

A dear family friend wrote this about Mr. Hare, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant because I know he lived his life in HIS image and was a good man.”

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hare; children, Stephen McLean and wife, Tammy, Cheryl Leigh Steinmeyer and husband, Ernie, Randall Glenn Hare and wife, Bonnie, and Laura Michelle Daggett and husband, Travis; grandchildren, Taylor Steinmeyer, Bradley Steinmeyer, Chris Hare, Justin Hare, Jacob Hare, and Chase Hare; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Leamon Ray Hare and Marvin Allen Hare; as well as many nieces and nephews.
