Birth Date: 07/27/1973
Deceased Date: 07/06/2024
Otis Lamar Cole, age 51 was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, at Moses Cone Hospital, to Otis Fred and Jessie Hamilton Cole (Doll) on January 27, 1973. He departed this life on July 4, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Affectionately known as “Marky” growing up, he attended Parkdale High School in Riverdale, Maryland, where he played basketball and ran track for the New Carrollton Cougars with Coach Patterson. Upon graduation, he studied drafting design at the Maryland Drafting Institute. He remained at the school until departing to attend Prince George Community College, earning an associate degree in General Studies.
Mark was an adventurer at heart. He obtained his commercial driver’s license in recent years and crisscrossed the United States and Canada. He frequently traveled to Alaska, California, Washington State, Oregon, and several other states. His love of seeing new places also quenched his thirst for knowledge. He was an avid reader and was often found studying for a new skill or enhancing skills already obtained.
Mark is survived by his mother, Jessie Hamilton Cole (Doll), sisters Sharon Sanders and Lisa Everette Graddy (Wiley), and brother, Freddy Scott. His sister, Jennifer Everette, and father, Otis Fred Cole, preceded him in death. Mark also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many relatives and loved ones.
Mark will be missed tremendously, but his memory will live in our hearts. We thank God for his life.
