    Benson, NC: Mrs. Agnes Sylvia Lee Wood, age 75, of Godwin Lake Road passed away peacefully on Monday, December 6, 2021 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital with her husband by her side. Graveside Services will be 2:00PM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Monroe Lee Family Cemetery, 342 Monroe Lane, Benson, NC 27504. Officiating will be Revs. Thomas Collings and John Milholland.
    Mrs. Wood was born on June 29, 1946 in Harnett County to the late Stephen Worth and Agnes Mae Warren Lee. She was preceded in death by brothers, Billy Craven Lee, Stephen W. “Stebo” Lee, Jr., Thomas W. Hudson, Hugh D. Hudson; sister-in-law, Shirley W. Parrish. She graduated from Meadow High School in 1964 as the class Valedictorian and in 1968 from UNC Greensboro with Honors. Mrs. Wood taught at Meadow School and retired as a professional estimator from Carolina Precast. Her life was centered around her faith, family, and serving others. Mrs. Wood was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she had served as Sunday School teacher and organist.
    Surviving include her husband and best friend of 54 years, W. David Wood, Jr., daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie W. Hall and husband, Steve, Stacey W. Hilliard and husband, Kenneth, Annah W. Creech and husband, Kevin, Melissa W. Kornegay and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Olivia H. Lampe and husband, Matt, Samuel Wood Hall, Kendall Elizabeth Hilliard, Caroline Agnes Hilliard, Phoebe Daye Creech, Meadow Belle Creech, Claire Hope Kornegay; brother, Don S. Lee and wife, Sandra; sisters-in-law, Betty Jo Bennett and husband, Gregg and Alice W. Lee; several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the fellowship hall of Trinity Baptist Church and other times at the home.
    Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, c/o Kristy Warren, Treasurer, 2354 Godwin Lake Road, Benson, NC 27504.
    In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are not required, but are kindly recommended for all services.
