Alma Jones Woodard, 85, of Princeton, surrounded by her family, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Born August 4, 1938, she was the daughter to the late Allen Alexander “Buss” and Lucille Sturdivant Jones. She was the widow of Charles “Cotton” Woodard. Alma is also preceded in death by her son, Timothy “Timmy” Charles Woodard.
Alma was a self-made woman, not only taking care of her business since 1964, but helping raise 3 generations of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She loved the Lord and Her faith in God was powerful. She was a founding member of New Beginnings Presbyterian Church in Pine Level.
The Funeral Service will be conducted 4:00 pm Sunday, October 29 th at Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church on Brogden Rd. Smithfield, with the Pastor Dennis Pollock officiating. A private entombment will be in the Woodard Family Cemetery with the Pastor Percy Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Tee’s Chapel prior to the Funeral Service.
She is survived by her daughter; Sandy Woodard White (Ray), grandchildren; Charleston Joshua White, Cameron Matthew White (Kasie), Holly Alise White (Evan), great grandchildren; Alexander Joshua White, Anslee Kate White, Zane Charles White, Hadley Brynn White, adopted son; James (Rusty) Allison, granddaughter-in-law; Casey White, brothers; Dennis L. Jones (Ramona), and James Alan Smythers (Joan), other siblings; Edward “Ed”, Paul, John, Hugh and Nora.
Although flowers are welcomed, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the New Beginnings Presbyterian Church, 232 Davis Mill Road, Pine Level, NC 27568.
