April Lynn Lockamy

April Lynn Lockamy, age 61, of Old Cutoff Road in Erwin, passed away and entered Heaven on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Betsy Johnson Hospital.

She was born on April 17, 1964 in Harnett County, the daughter of the late William Paul and Margaret Jackson Lockamy. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Victoria Lockamy and Margie Lockamy Martinez.

Known for her unwavering devotion to her church, South Erwin Baptist, April found strength and solace in her faith, which she shared generously with those around her.

A proud supporter of the UNC Tar Heels and the Pittsburgh Steelers, April’s enthusiasm for sports was infectious. Whether cheering from the stands or her living room, she brought the same energy and loyalty to her teams that she gave to her family and friends.

April had a deep appreciation for color—not just in art or fashion, but in life itself. She saw beauty in every shade and brightness in life’s moments, always finding joy in the little things. A favorite past time was coloring books and her precious dolls.
She also greatly enjoyed “working” or volunteering at the ARC of Harnett County. She loved every attendee and teacher and all became her cherished friends.

Survivors include a brother, Barry Lockamy and wife Debbie of Erwin; nieces, Dana Davis and husband Kevin, and Jody Clark and husband Bryant; great-nephew, Braxton Davis and great-nieces, Bailey Johnson, Hayden Johnson, and Brylee Clark.
Her kindness, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. April’s memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 PM, Wednesday, October 29 at Dunn Funeral Home in Erwin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 30 at 2:00 PM at South Erwin Baptist Church by Rev. Drew Parker and Charles Price officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
