Barbara Hodge Grice

Smithfield – Barbara Hodge Grice, age 76, passed away at her home on Sunday May 24, 2026. She was born in Johnston County on September 10, 1949 to the late John William Hodge and Beaulah Smith Hodge.

The family will be receiving visitors at different times throughout the week. No formal services are planned at this time.

She is survived by her husband of 57 wonderful years, Roy Lee Grice of Smithfield; daughters, Julie Johnson and husband Jeff of Smithfield, Cricket Renfrow and husband Ray of Newton Grove; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Barbara enjoyed the simple things in life such as taking care of and spending time with her family, being outdoors and especially being on her swing.
