Rebecca “Becky” Lynn Johnson, 76, gained her angel wings, Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
Becky was born, June 21,1947 in Johnston County, NC and was a long time resident of O’Berry Neuro-Medical Treatment Center in Goldsboro, NC. She was the daughter of the late Ira Clifton Johnson and Evelyn Brown Johnson of Selma, NC. She is also predeceased by two brothers, Johnny Clifton Johnson and Michael Stephen Johnson.
Becky was the epitome of “special …” as a child she loved animals, rocking chairs, swings and playing with her younger siblings. Becky’s love for shoes, baby dolls, magazines, balloons and going for a ride endured until she took her last breath. Every day was her birthday and everyday was Christmas…all it took was a gift bag or a balloon and she would break out in song! Her laugh and determination were something to be reckoned with as all of her caregivers knew all too well!
To all that cared for her at O’Berry Center, thank you from our hearts for all that you did for Becky over the many years she was with you. The staff, social workers and medical team did an exceptional job of taking care of our sweet Becky. Becky sure was lucky to have each and every one of you in her life!
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 “In the twinkling of an eye…” we know Becky was swooped into Glory with our dear mother waiting and our family before her. Becky is survived by her sisters, Barbara Johnson Parsons, Morehead City, NC and Phyllis Johnson Barbour (DeVan), Pine Knoll Shores, NC. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Darlene Capps Johnson and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date in the Chapel at O’Berry Center.
