Benny Aaron Pollard

Benny Aaron Pollard, Sr., age 80, passed away on June 28th, 2026, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC. He was born in Johnston County on January 1, 1946, to the late Archie “Jake” Pollard and Levi Pollard of Selma.

Benny was an Army veteran who was proud of his service in Vietnam. He loved his jobs with the telephone company and cable television, which led to travel around North Carolina and Virginia. Benny is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Shirley Whitener Pollard; sisters, Hildred Holt and Violet Pollard Glover; brothers, Archie Pollard, Floyd Pollard, Nelson Pollard, and great-grandson David Q. Cannon.

He is survived by his children, Holly Pollard Meggs (Chris) of Elizabethtown, Benny Aaron Pollard, Jr. of Ardmore, OK, and Joseph Matthew Pollard of Elizabethtown. In addition to his children, he has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be a small, family service on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
