Bernice Cockrell Bunn, 83, of Kenly passed away at her home on Friday, April 21, 2023. She was born on September 18, 1939 in Wilson County to the late William Cockrell and Bessie Taylor Cockrell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Bunn; daughter, Frances Godwin; son, Benny Rae Barnes and brothers, Pete and Steve Cockrell.
Mrs. Bunn is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Jones of Kenly; son, Timothy W. Barnes of Newton Grove; brother, Johnny Cockrell of Rocky Mount; sisters, Brenda Godwin of Kenly, Peggy Clark of Angier, Shirley Scott of Wilson, and Judy Barnes of Kenly; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
