Princeton – Betty Sue Braswell Parrish, age 78, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, in UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Smithfield. Born, June 10, 1944, in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Herman and Closie “Bell” Braswell. She is preceded in death by her husband Murilyn “Tink” Parrish. Betty enjoyed attending church at Tee’s Chapel Church in Brogden. Years ago, when she was able, she enjoyed playing piano, singing and she enjoyed crocheting afghans. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with a burial to follow in the Cemetery at Parrish Memorial Church in Selma.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
She is survived by her son, Thomas Parrish (wife Tina) of Archer Lodge, daughter, Connie Green of Princeton, brother, Ricky Braswell (wife Mary) of Princeton; grandchildren, Kimberly Green, Jacob Parrish (wife Courtney), Noah Parrish, Matthew Parrish and great-granddaughter, Weslynn Green.
