Billy Ray Brown, age 83, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 6, 2022, at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. Born September 16, 1938, in Johnston County he was a son of the late Rayford and Hattie Brown. He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Ray Brown, II; sisters, Myrtle Starling and Jessie Underhill; and niece, Betty Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2022, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. James Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are his son, Billy Ray Brown, III and fiancée Angey Whitley of Pine Level; daughter, Angela Odom of Pine Level; grandchildren, Heather Odom of Four Oaks, Crystal Odom of Pine Level, Tyler Brown and fiancée Katelyn Quincey of Elm City, Cameron Page of Myrtle Beach; great-grandchildren, Josiah Best, Connor Capps, Raylon Capps, Paisley Best and Kinsley Best; and nieces and nephews, Frank and Ann Narron, Faye Underhill, William and Liz Underhill, James and Joy Underhill, Johnny and Nadia Underhill and Von Easter.
