Benson, NC: Mr. Bobby Glenn Avery, age 65, of NC Hwy 27 East passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Graveside Services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Mr. Avery was born on September 9, 1958 in Harnett County to Nettie Jean Hardison Lee and the late Bobby Sherrill Avery. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Delma and Lottie Hardison, paternal grandparents, Henly and Katie Avery, his daddy, Lloyd Isham Lee, and his sister-in-law, Patricia Avery. Glenn retired from General Parts as an inventory control officer. Glenn enjoyed pulling for UNC Tarheels and loved watching NASCAR, baseball and any sport really. He graduated from Coats Union High School in 1977 and he was the senior class president. Glenn had a nickname for all his nieces and nephews.
Surviving includes his mother, Nettie Jean Lee; siblings, Robert Lynn Avery, Norma Avery Hodges and husband Danny, Teresa Avery Key and husband, Rickey, Terry Lynn Avery and wife, Rhonda, Donna Avery Hatcher and husband, David; great nieces and nephews, Mindi, Cara, DeChesta, Alicia, Cody, Jessica, Rick, Chase, Lloyd, Brittany and Storm; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 7:00PM to 9:00PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
