Bonnie Barbour Jones

Smithfield – Bonnie Barbour Jones, age 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on April 20, 1947, to the late Oris Fulton Barbour and Callie Florence Byrd Barbour. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Jones; sisters, Evelyn Moore and Carolyn Barbour.

The family will receive visitors at Sardis Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 3:00 PM. Burial will take place in the church cemetery immediately following the service.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Jones and wife Rena of Kenly, Shane Jones and wife Jennette of Smithfield; daughter, Kim Adams and husband Danny of Princeton; brother, Lyn Barbour of Wendell; sister, Jackie Faulkner of Franklinton; grandchildren, Amanda Lowe, Danielle Powell, Courtney Ward, Dylan Shirley, Megan Elliott, Logan Anderson, Dawson Jones, Haley Brush, Kalli Sullivan, Ethan Jones, Lindsey Pearce; great grandchildren, Karlie Barnes, Greyson Powell, Casen Anderson, Mason Ward, Hallie Anderson, Landon Ward, Addilee Powell, Lottie Brush, Cohen Anderson, Weston Pearce, Paxton Sullivan.

Bonnie was a member of Sardis Free Will Baptist church in Brogden. She had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help anyone who was in need. She found great joy in volunteering at the cancer center. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the SECU Hospice House (Johnston Health Foundation, P.O. Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577).
