Brian James Ballweg

Brian James Ballweg, age 63 of Dunn, NC, passed away from an unexpected illness on July 15, 2026, at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, NC, with his family by his side.

Brian was born in Madison, WI, on March 30, 1963, where he lived until relocating in 2024 to Dunn, NC, with his wife, Vicki (Edgren) Ballweg.

He worked over 30 years in parts counter sales for large trucks, most recently for Mack Trucks, before having to retire early due to cancer.

Brian loved NASCAR racing — his favorite driver was Chase Elliott, No. 9. He also loved football, with the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers as his favorite teams. He enjoyed traveling and camping trips to national parks, the mountains, and Myrtle Beach, SC.

He is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; his mother, Darlene Ballweg (friend Bob). He was a devoted Father to son, Cody Ballweg (Amber), and daughter, Kaci Williams (Joshua). Loving Papa to his 5 grandchildren; Alison, August, and Isla Ballweg, Theodore and Genevieve Williams; Other survivors include Mother-in-law, Joan Edgren; Brother-in-law, Bob Edgren (Debbie), Sister-in-law, Julie Poffinbarger (Scott). Also, siblings: brother, Tim (Kim) and brother, Mickey (Dawn); sister, Lisa Wallom (Ron); and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Ballweg; father-in-law, Robert Edgren Sr., and nephew, Jeffrey Poffinbarger. Also, Grandparents, Math and Catherine Ballweg, Bernard and Dorothy Viney.

There are no services planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to offset funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated and may be given directly to the family.
