Smithfield – Carol Shaw Puckett Stallings, age 83, passed away Sunday July 21, 2024 at her home in Smithfield. She was born in Johnston County on April 7, 1941 to the late Luther Carson Puckett and Mary Medlin Puckett. In addition to her father and mother, she is also preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Ray Jones, and Sam H. Stallings Jr.; sister, Phyllis Godwin.
The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Saturday July 27, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service will be conducted in First Baptist Church in Smithfield on Sunday July 28, 2024 at 3:00 PM with burial to follow the service in Knollwood Memorial Park.
She is survived by her sons, Neal Robert Jones of South Carolina, and Christopher Albert Jones of Smithfield; a brother, Luther Puckett Jr., and wife Terry of Pine Level.
Carol was member of First Baptist Church in Smithfield for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She graduated from Hardbarger’s Business College and started working at Stallings insurance in Smithfield in 1960, which she ran and owned upon the passing of her husband Sam H. Stallings.
