Carol Stallings Strickland, age 88, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born June 10, 1933 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Alma Roberts Stallings. She was preceded in death by her husband, Labron Strickland; brothers, James Stallings and Bill Stallings; and sister, Sandra Crocker.
Carol was a life long member of Yelverton Grove FWB Church where she served on the Ladies Auxiliary.
Due to COVID, a private graveside service will be conducted Thursday with Rev. Joe Balance officiating in Yelverton Grove Church Cemetery.
Surviving are her children, Larry Strickland and wife Kathy, Janice “Jan” Hooks and husband Charles, Alice Overby and husband Thomas, Penny Gabriel and husband Jerry, Robin Slater and husband Dave, David Strickland and wife Denise, and Steve Strickland and wife Anne; brother, Charles Stallings; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
