Carrie Ann Hogue, 53, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024. Carrie was born November 5, 1970 in Geneva, New York to Donald Bailey and Jeannie (Pane) Washburn.
Carrie worked as a certified nursing assistant and for the United States Postal Service before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Carrie’s strong will and refusal to give in aided her in battling three autoimmune conditions for many years. Carrie had a loving and giving heart, taking care of everyone, most especially her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Per Carrie’s request, no formal services will be held at this time.
Carrie is preceded in death by her father, Donald Bailey.
Carrie is survived by her husband of 38 years, Greg Hogue; daughter, Amanda; son, Aaron; grandchildren, Payton, Madelyn, Garner, and Hudson; other survivors include her mother, Jeannie Washburn; sister, Tammy Spina; brother, Donnie Bailey; half-brother, Scott Bailey; half-sister, Lisa Shell, her mother-in-law, Lynn Lamm; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas Hogue and Jeffrey Hogue.
The family expresses an appreciation to the staff of the Emergency Department, Palliative Care, and the ICU at UNC Health in Smithfield for their professional and caring care.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice in memory of Carrie.
