Carroll Grey Lee

Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Carroll Grey Lee, age 82, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 2:45PM Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church in Newton Grove. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church in Newton Grove. Officiating will be Revs. Dwight Braswell and Dennis Guy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lee was born on February 25, 1944 in Johnston County, NC to the late Verlin Franklin and Eva Mae Stanley Lee. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Linwood Lee. Mr. Lee worked for the USDA Grading and he retired from the United States Postal Service in Benson after 30 plus years. After retirement you could find Mr. Lee selling cars or hauling sweet potatoes. He served for many years on the North Carolina State Singing Board of Directors and was a devoted member of Hood’s Grove Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. Mr. Lee an avid fisherman, a storm chaser, loved traveling to the mountains, and reading his newspapers with a good cup of coffee.

Survivors include his sister, Gale Barefoot; life-long friend, Maxine Lee; daughters, Lesa King (Timmie), Natalie Oliver (Michael); sister-in-law, Judy Lee; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Donnie Barefoot (Nancy), Lee Ann Blackmon (Rodney), Ashley Barefoot, Jason Barefoot, Neil Barefoot, Robert Carroll Barefoot, Crystal Lee, Catherine Woodall (Adam); and numerous special great-nieces and nephews.
