    Charles Dupree, born on August 8, 1941, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, passed away on January 11, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bailey and Retha M. Dupree; his wife, Thelma Reid Dupree; two brothers George and Cornelius Dupree; and sister Linda Joyce Adams.

    Charles received his education in the Johnston County public school system, attending Richard B. Harrison. He worked as a dedicated truck driver for T.W. Shirley of Smithfield, North Carolina. He was known for his love of life, his willingness to help others, and his devotion to his life partner.

    He leaves to cherish his memory, his life partner of 52 years, Margaret Woodard of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sons, Charles Ray Dupree of Selma, North Carolina, and Freddie Groves (and wife Sherry) of Smithfield, North Carolina; four daughters, Pamela Battle of Raleigh, North Carolina, Cassandra Williams of Four Oaks, North Carolina, Beverly Woodard of Clayton, North Carolina, and Linda Rogers of Greensboro, North Carolina; five brothers, James W. Dupree, Sr. of Selma, North Carolina, Rudolph Dupree (and wife Louise) of Goldsboro, North Carolina, John Dupree, Jr. (and wife Phyllis) of Selma, North Carolina, Donald Dupree of Wilson, North Carolina, and Ronald Dupree of Selma, North Carolina; one sister, Alice Dupree of Durham, North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also leaves behind a special friend, K. Woodhouse, who provided him with support and companionship.
