Charles Glenn Pilkington, age 87, passed away Friday, January 19, 2023, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born in Johnston County on February 10, 1935, to the late Jesse Almond and Jennie Creech Pilkington and was preceded in death by his brother, Rudolph Pilkington.
Charles Glenn was survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Pilkington, son Michael Pilkington and wife Mari, daughter Renee Crocker and husband Tim; grandchildren Deanna Menchinger and husband Sam, Jordan Crocker, Jason Pilkington, Anna Crocker and sister Madeline Braswell, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Charles Glenn was a farmer, carpenter and was also a US Army Veteran. He was a lifelong member of Hephzibah Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years, Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, Treasurer, Trustee and also sang bass in the church choir. He celebrated 50 years of Sunday School perfect attendance. He was an avid fisherman and deer hunter and always enjoyed being outside.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hephzibah Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Hephzibah Baptist Church with the Reverend Kevin Drake and Reverend Matt Munday officiating. A graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.
