Birth Date: 09/28/1976
Deceased Date: 12/15/2023
Charles “Charlie” Glenwood Crocker, was born on September 28, 1976 in Wilson NC. He was a life long Star Wars fanatic, an artist, a landscaper, a faithful NASCAR enthusiast and a comedian. A fan of Western movies and shows, he especially loved “Lonesome Dove”, “Gunsmoke”,and “The Rifleman”. A 1994 graduate of North Johnston High School, he was a member of the marching band his junior year, playing the trumpet.
He was also a proud member of the Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 1994.
Charlie grew up, lived, and passed away on the farm he called home. To him, that was where he belonged – life on the farm was simple, full of memories, and it granted him the quiet he craved. To quote Augustus McCrae from Lonesome Dove, “I doubt it matters where you die, but it matters where you live.”
Charlie waged a war with diabetes for the majority of his life. He fought each day to live that day to the fullest, to fight each battle, and to push the edge just as far as he could. John Wayne said it best when he said: “Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway”.
Charlie saddled his horse one last time and rode into the sunset on December 15, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Wade & Estelle Crocker and Roger & Mary Elizabeth Lynch.
He leaves behind his wife of 26 years Susan Gerrell Crocker, his son and daughter in law Dillon & Amber Crocker, his grandson Wyatt Crocker, and his daughter Samantha Crocker. He is also survived by his parents Glenwood & Gail Crocker and Carolyn & Tom Davis, sister and brother in law Elizabeth & Chris Sullivan, sister Jennie Davis, nephews Austin & Colby Sullivan and Cody & Zachary McLamb and nieces Josie Brady and Allie McCullen.
